Bach from the dead

I think it’s pretty funny that the last article on my blog is 3 years old, and starts with “I haven’t been blogging much lately” :-)

A lot has happened since then. I’ve worked for more than a year for a now bust startup (SmartHippo), and then went on to work for SocialGrapes, for more than 2 years. I’m still there, as the lead developer and CTO.

I could say we’re right in the trough of sorrow. But that’s not what this post is about.

This post is about coming back to blogging. I miss rambling about the stuff I do day in and day out. Wordpress fatigue kept eventually eroded my desire to blog.

This blog is now hosted with Octopress on S3, which I think is pretty neat :-) I may post about my setup, but there’s quite a few blog posts in the wild discussing hosting jekyll-based sites on S3.

I’ve got a ton to blog about, I just hope I can find enough time! I’ve started working on git_remote_branch again, I created a JavaScript library that I haven’t talked about anywhere (I didn’t have a good place :), I’ve discovered a ton of new tools, and so on.

I’ll likely start with a series of posts about Heroku, though. After presenting “Advanced Heroku” at the last Montreal.rb, I realized that a single blog post about it all would be even more long and tedious than the presentation :-)
